I got this book on Saturday and am almost done with it even though it's 450 pages long. I just love his writing style and imaginative fantasy world. There's an extremely complex mystery that's also fun to try to figure out. Highly recommend this series if that's your thing, this is book 2. Not a cozy mystery though, some of the mystery elements are a little gruesome. Trying out the new Bookstodon fedi group, thanks to whoever set it up! #Bookstodon #Fantasy #Mystery @bookstodon

Patterns in the Sand by Sally Goldenbaum and Julie McKay (Narrator) is the second book in the Seaside Knitters mystery series. The book opens with Willow Adams letting herself into knitting studio and being found there, sleeping under the store's cat.

Murder at Cape Costumers by Maddie Day and Rachel Delude (Narrator) (2025) is the seventh book in the Cozy Capers Book Group mystery series. There's a murder during Halloween that involves a newly opened costume shop. But in all honesty, the murder is the least important part of this book. Instead, this one is all about family stepping up when things fall apart.

Natural Barn Killer by Amanda Flower and Rachel Dulude (2025) is the fifth Farm to Table mystery. It's Thanksgiving and Shiloh Bellamy is hosting a meal at the farm house. After the meal she finds her chickens standing on an exposed femur, sticking out of the dirt mound by their recently moved coop.

I've finished: Drunk on All Your Strange New Words by Eddie Robson

First of all, this is a wonderful mystery, lead by an amateur detective. Her flaws and awkward pursuit of the truth are what kept me glued to this novel.

While this is a novel about an alien embassy to earth, it is more a study of human culture than alien culture.

A climate change destabilized humanity deals badly with the soft power of an alien embassy's cultural attache.

Robson contrasts the aliens that are disinterested in digital media and humanity that is consumed by it. The telepathic aliens that find it hard to lie and obfuscate and the humans that can't stop.
