Behold the (knickerbocker) GLORY(ous) return of #ThePlaylist, where our theme this week is:

Puddin'

So go ahead and spoil your dinner with the (ice) CREAM of musical selections, some of which are actually related to the idea of pudding. Or dessert, if you're one of *those*.

You'd be a (strawberry) FOOL to miss out!

This week's theme-specific artwork by Troggie, which is a trifle wearing headphones. Obviously. I am the raspberries in the jelly layer.

I've reviewed what is most likely the non-fiction book of the year: Jamie Fisher's 'Nobody Broke Your Heart: an intimate biography of Elliott Smith'.

This is a book that is greater than the sum of its parts. It actually widened my thought world about Smith's music, something I can say about very few music books.

Do not miss this book! Order a copy now.

Owl at the Library: The part of George Orwell's 1984 that everyone forgets is how the music and publishing industries have been replaced by a machine that spits out songs and bad novels "without any human intervention." The goal is to keep you from ever having to think.
