Where are you supposed to do your boasting, if you’ve left Instagram? My solution: move your best humblebrags to yer own website.

This includes the interview from my recent Cover Gurl routine on The Goo magazine. 🌝

It would be so cool if there was a music place that took the best bits of #Bandcamp and #Patreon and also let you set your own fees as an artist and maybe was a #coop too.

Well, it already exists. It's called #Mirlo. 🐦‍⬛

https://mirlo.space

An illustrated graphic for musicians showing how they can set their own fees on Mirlo and explaining who we are.

"Mirlo thrives on artist contributions-whether through monthly support or a slice of album sales. But we get it: every cent counts, and only you know what you can afford. That's why we let you decide how much of your sales goes to Mirlo. Your art, your call.

If you're having trouble deciding on a rate, you can use this sliding scale calculator for individuals provided by the Aorta Co-operative."

This past week, 99 years ago, Miles Dewey Davis III was born in Alton, Illinois.

On November 12, 1989, on 60 Minutes, Harry Reasoner asked him if Black musicians were better at jazz and blues because of slavery. The question could’ve gone sideways.

What Davis said—quietly, precisely—was about rhythm, memory, race, and the meaning of swing. #music #Jazz #Histodons #history #blackmastodon #photography #blackandwhite

Clear look in the ocean. Coral and presumably happy fish are present.

The top left corner is titled "The Fresh Beets" and the bottom left corner is subtitled "Live DJ Set - Techno."

Retro project.

First shot at making a small wooden box, this for a 4-CD blues/gospel mix I intend to give as a gift to someone who still enjoys the format.

Joints are mitred and pinned as can be seen if you look closely.

CD working title: 'Blues & Pews'

(See replies for further developments & stay tuned; I'll post the playlist on completion. After that: a series on my fave 'fuck corporate waste' project'.)

A small project strewn over a kitchen counter. Two blue joint clamps on a hardwood cutting board holding work in progress (0.25" 1.5" x 5.0" pine), a distinctive yellow and black drill, a red jar cap, a bottle of wood glue, materials and offcuts, the handle of a mitre saw, a ruled grey self-healing cutting pad below all.

FRESH TECHNO BEETS

Back to techno! Feels like it's been forever. This time we go a little more minimal and slow, making for easier use of a third deck. Check it out!

You choose. Bloom Therapy or Music Therapy. Then again, you can enjoy the blooms and this episode of Frequently Alternative at the same time. My mantra was "mellow" in the first half of the show with music from Sarah McLachlan, Peter Gabriel, The Psychedelic Furs and some other surprises. Listen on Mixcloud.

Trump told Springsteen to shut up. He didn’t.
His new album includes his Manchester, UK intro to “My City in Ruins,” telling the audience that in the United States the authorities were “persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent.” He said that the nation was cutting aid to the poor, abandoning allies, rolling back civil rights protections, defunding universities and deporting people without due process. #Springsteen #resist #music https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/21/arts/music/bruce-springsteen-e-street-band-ep-trump.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare
