Listening to Heart String by Earl Klugh

this AI music-video… it’s nonsense and looks so bad…
this song doesn’t deserve it. god is dead, who thought this was a good idea…

the original music video is superior in every way, objectively. there is literally no angle in which it loses. :gutkato_kapaŭskultiloj:

Aliens Music Video by Me. 😊

I'm on the front line
Don't worry I'll be fine
The story is just beginning
I say goodbye to my weakness
So long to the regret
And now I see the world through diamond eyes

Listening to Group Therapy 669 by Isam Hadjih

Thousands of rare American songs spanning jazz, blues and gospel — some more than a century old — are now available for the public to enjoy online.

That’s thanks to a collaboration between UC Santa Barbara and the nonprofit Dust-to-Digital Foundation , which digitized the recordings from rare and aging music collections.

German music historian and critic Friedrich Chrysander died #OTD in 1901.

His most significant achievement was the publication of the "Händel-Gesellschaft" edition, a monumental 105-volume collection of Handel’s complete works. He was one of the founders of the Vierteljahrsschrift für Musikwissenschaft, one of the first scholarly journals devoted to the study of music history and theory.

Listening to A State Of Trance 1070 by Niels Van Gogh

It maybe an unpleasant November out there - but what about some warm coziness from the inside?

I know something that may spark all that:

RADIO IRRTUM!
(on air from Berlin)

↓↓↓ Deutsch Version below unten ↓↓↓

Da next issue of #RadioIrrtum! will air this Saturday, 2025/11/22, 8:00pm UTC+1, Berlin time. At Alex Berlin FM at 91MHz / DAB+ K7D around #Berlin + worldwide at https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .

Wuzit then?

#Radio Irrtum! is a German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music all over this planet's genre spectrum. Don't worry about that #GermanLanguage - it's all about the #music!
A lot of it - this time with a bit of focus on Spoken Words!

Covering stuff like

- lightweight musical poems
- voice heavy #organPoint Pop
- dreamy Bulgarian #Triphop
- a #Fediverse dream cooperation of #Bonkwave artists doing classic #DnB
- playful #indietronic
- #140 #Bass full of dancy-pancy energy
- #IBM (the term Radio-Irrtum! uses for Intellectual Bass Music) including Spoken Words
- Experimental #SpokenWords
- less #experimental SpokenWords
- dark Riot Grrrl #Postpunk
- dreamy #Downtempo #Lofi for making you smile

Lots of #CreativeCommons music is included and there are super cool artists from the Fediverse. Like @axwax + @ahihi + @animaexanimata + @poemproducer . Lots of strong women in music too. Lots wont be found on Spotify while it's all here!

Also (mostly for the German listeners I'm afraid) I will explain the organ point composition technique which is featured even in modern music (and without an organ if you are lucky).
And I will merge Johann Sebastian Bach's name into "Johannes Bach" by misstake at one point. I honestly know better! I can say this because the show is preproduced (and still I didn't catch this before uploading it to the radio station; this is bad!).

Anyway: If at least a bit interested in kewl new unusual #music, tune in! 📻

Got questions? I'll gladly answer! Just ask here!
Playlist + manuscript after the show also here.
CU all (?) on Saturday.

May you feel and share feelings of peace and acceptance this Christmas season! In this short post I sing you a poorly engineered but well-intentioned Christmas carol, and share an Aussie nativity picture to download and colour.

Just a reminder that "Mover" came out recently and you can listen to it across a variety of different places on/from my website, particularly if you like reversed choirs and sad synths.

It's also accompanied by a weird video where I appear as a tin of delicious hair and a toilet roll.

Socool - Blow Out ✨
Available now, everywhere!

https://socool.bandcamp.com/album/blow-out

We celebrate the last days of summer with this wonderful cover version of Radiohead’s “Blow Out” by Emily Sobool aka Socool who turns it into a modern, meandering ambient ballad.

@socool's take on Blow Out turns the song into a beautifully evocative exploration through a nocturnal ambient soundscape with piano chords carrying her whispery voice like a glow in the darkness.

Finnish violinist and composer Jean Sibelius died #OTD in 1957.

The core of his oeuvre is his set of seven symphonies, which, like his other major works, are regularly performed and recorded in Finland and countries around the world. His other best-known compositions are Finlandia, the Karelia Suite, Valse triste, the Violin Concerto, the choral symphony Kullervo, and The Swan of Tuonela (from the Lemminkäinen Suite).

From Monte Carlo to the final frontier

“Beyond the Blue Horizon,” introduced in Lubitsch’s Monte Carlo, enters the public domain soon. Jeanette MacDonald’s train-scene song later inspired Alexander Courage’s Star Trek theme of hopeful exploration.
