really solid stuff and performances are well done, largely well done fan service but a lil too "and now clap"-y. not enough room given to some of the villains, the first half feels so different to the second and it kinda needs to be two different films, but it still works well. second best of the Watts trilogy imo
Rated Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma 8/10
This wasn't as accessible to me as TV Glow, which reminded me of a bunch of low-rent television from my childhood. I've never even seen Friday the 13th, although my respect for Halloween serves as a proxy here. Still, a gorgeous movie with something to say about being a creator within the apocalyptic detritus of fandom; reconciling the hurt propagated for the entertainment of millions with the experiences that we treasure as foundational to our identity.
