Rated Mārama 7/10
I can't help but love a film about indigenous sisterhood triumphing over the evils of colonialism. The music and sound design also helped elevate it even more.

Rated The Beasts 7/10
This feels like the inevitable conclusion to those errant ‘wouldn’t it be nice to move to the county and have a simple life’ thoughts that drift occasionally through my mind
Rated Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice 7/10
Rated The Towering Inferno 10/10
Such a fun and eventful experience. Towering inferno feels like a classic disaster movie that just can’t be made anymore.
Rated Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery 8/10
That was some crazy partly sunny / partly cloudy weather for Easter
Rated Inside Man 8/10
I like that Spike is now the Muse in Residence for New York instead of Woody Allen. This isn’t a top tier Spike joint, but Denzel elevates it beyond the mundane, as he so often does. Not sure what Clive Owen’s accent is doing though.
Rated The Odyssey 7/10
Decent for a summer blockbuster. Quite good in some parts, particularly towards the end, but also surprisingly clumsy in other parts. Like, Nolan just decided that he's done trying to do a build-up of any kind for some scenes, he just barges right into them. It's just so... flat. And it's like that all the way through until the emotional homecoming, when suddenly he decides to add some weight to things. Really strangely lopsided. I'd say that it seems like he's rushing to get to the end, but the damn movie is three hours long. And Hathaway and Pattinson are the only ones doing any real acting in this, Damon is just being Matt Damon with a beard. Anyway, I shouldn't overthink it, this was still a fine way to kill 3 hours.
