Rated Guy Ritchie's The Covenant 5/10

Kind of slow and repetitive, but the cinematography and visuals are good.It's clearly against the Afghanistan war, but still feels pro-America. I guess this is necessary for the target audience to relate to the story, but it still feels weird.

Rated Spider-Man: Brand New Day 9/10

Increíble lo bien que funciona absolutamente TODO en Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Peli de superhéroes del año y, posiblemente, la mejor película de Spider-Man ever. Lo más parecido a pillar un retapado de tebeos random, sin ninguna historia grandilocuente detrás, y disfrutar como un enano.

wood horse, good filmI'm still processing this beast, but two things stand out to me immediately:1) Nolan and co are incredibly good at making a big gambit feel tense - even if we already know the result. And I'm not even talking because of how well known The Odyssey is - in the course of the film, with no external knowledge, we already know that Odysseus' idea is what beats Troy, and that he and Menelaus survive. And yet, the Trojan Horse escape and gate opening is genuinely a nail biter.2) The whole film is raw, visceral, brutal. There is spectacle and scale, for sure, but it all gets grounded in dirt, hammered metal, and simple colors. Wide, barren landscapes. The music is frequently just plucked strings and primitive flutes. And the Circe scene....... the Cyclops.......
