Rated Observe and Report 2/10

Observe and Report is as schizophrenic as it’s main character. It just doesn't work on so many levels, and ultimately seems confused as to what type of movie it wants to be. I suspect it was a good script that was ruined as it squeezed through the Hollywood production cycle. I usually like Seth Rogan, but he was an unwise choice as star. He really can't (or the script didn't allow him to) 'do edgy'. His performance, and the movie as a whole, left me feeling completely cold.

Enjoyable quirky love story. Feels a bit like an indy flick, but it’s mainstream themes keep it well grounded. Lovely cast, lovely story. Sweet without being sickly.

A touching if over-sentimental examination of growing up in South Central Los Angeles. Boyz n the Hood has dated a great deal, but if you can overlook this, there is plenty entertainment to be had.
