Currently testing out the new version of #Mammoth as my #Iceshrimp client. So far so good, the #Mastodon #API integration does wonders but I do hope that @mammoth integrates the native API along with other #Fediverse software.
I'm glad that its custom lists don't populate in my list of lists, because that would be poor on their part if a person wanted to move apps.
They might want to try and grab the instance character limit, as I can play with 6000 and not just 500.
However, the whole splitting and threading feature is great. I like that it doesn't mess with the UI and is seamless.
It's much less distracting because of that.

Tag Groups in @IceCubesApp is an absolute game-changer, and I can’t believe it took me this long to use them.
Instead of following hashtags (and killing your home feed), you simply group them by topic, name it, and pin it.
Ice Cubes is now my main Mastodon app because of this and several other kick-ass features.

#Fedilab supports the quoting mechanism for long with some softwares that introduced it.
This option is currently hidden in "Extra features" from Settings.
We opened it to #Mastodon in timelines (ie: messages containing quotes), but it is not yet possible to post quoted messages with Mastodon.
Also Mastodon seems to have introduced a degree of privacy. The API returns if the OP accepted to be quoted.
Fedilab already supports this privacy parameter by displaying only accepted quotes.

I love #Mastodon so much. Last night I posted an #introduction on a whim, just to say hello.
I expected to be ignored just like I have been so many times on #twitter (refuse to call the #birdsite "X", ugh).
I woke up to numerous #boost notifications and new followers. Wow.

В общем, эксперимент с #Firefish можно считать законченным. Там #Markdown не дружит с кириллицей. Поэтому, кто подписался взаимно на мои акки на https://infosec.town и https://dvd.chat — можете, в принципе, отписываться, использовать я буду только второй и только для постинга картиночек с бустом сюда.
P.S. кто пропустил пост про https://dvd.chat — повторюсь: там дают 200 гигабайт (!) места; он не пережимает картинки и не режет EXIF; можно выкладывать вообще любые типы файлов помимо картинок. #Misskey #Fediverse #mastodon

Mastodon may not be as big as some other social networks. And it may not have as many celebrities & "influencers."
But it sure is a nice place to engage with curious, thoughtful & interesting folks in ways that I haven't experienced elsewhere online.
Rather than a chaotic circus, #Mastodon uniquely feels like a (mostly) friendly neighborhood.
Folks on Mastodon, to hide the current deluge of spam:
1. Settings -> Filters
2. Add new filter
3. Add a title (e.g., Spam)
4. Select all the context checkboxes
5. Set Filter Action to Hide Completely
6. Add the following keyword with a hash (#) before it: 診断メーカー

Just wanted to point out, with the ongoing #spam attack on #fediverse / #misskey / #mastodon, this kind of happens on every social network. The only reason you are hearing about it is because #moderation #staff is normal users who use the normal channels to talk about it, and we actually take it way more seriously than the corporate social networks do.
Like, this represents most of the traffic on #Twitter, and they don't seem to care, so it speaks volumes about the fact that you can see us talking about how we don't want that here.
