Some cute #mosses on my afternoon walk today. Love how #moss and #lichen cohabitates so happily together. Makes little mosaics on stone, branches, and the trunks of trees.

A hanging collage in green, white and orange tones with natural finds. The most important parts of this abstract collage are wooden sticks (one with a bright orange lichen), a real lichen with embroidery stitches in silk yarn, a small porcellaine frog and a historic illustration of water plants.

The zoom on the abstract collage shows the two wooden sticks and the embroidered real grey lichen on a background of textile scraps and intuitive embroidery. One stick is lemon tree without bark, the stick with bark is cobered with a bright orange lichen. This colour is repeated in the stitches on the real grey lichen.

Fuzzy mounds of half frozen mosses crown a grey stump.

Crystals of pale ice cling to and highlight the edges of a few pale leaves, silhouetted against the darker leaves below them.

Tube-like lichens, some sporting pale blooms, climb the side of an old stump. Tons of life in one little spot.

Shaggy, frozen mosses drape along the edge of a large stone, a few smaller ones in the background sport similar fronds.
