If you've watched "K-Pop Demon Hunters," you know the cute tiger & magpie.
The tiger showed up in Korean folkart which became popular during the Joseon period. It is thought to represent the ruling class and is often made to look foolish. Some think the magpie represents the commoners.
You'll see one of the famous Hojak-do (Tiger Magpie painting) pieces below as well as a current day sculpture (with LED lights embedded in it for animations at night) that was in Myeongdong, Seoul across from my hotel.
Wow, the #Viu #HallyuDash is expensive. It's like buying tickets to a huge #Kpop #Kdrama concert/fanmeet. 😅viuhallyudash.myruntime.com/register#ViuPH #Running #ViuHallyuDash #FunRun #Fitness #Health

MDL lists "comedy" as one of the genres for 12 episode #kDrama #TheWinningTry - there are total of maybe 15 minutes of comedy in the first 11 episodes. Of course, having started nearly 500 #kDrama I know that wallowing in misery, pain and the triumph of evil IS considered fun in #kDrama
"3%" from Brazil and "Bon Appetit, Your Majesty" from South Korea exist in a shared universe in that they both know exactly what the game engine is that underlies their series premise and the writers deploy that game engine skillfully and elegantly in each episode (at least in the first few seasons of 3%).
I recommend both series to anyone interested in advanced episodic writing.

Great actress #신은수 (Shin EunSu) solidified she deserves the title «K-drama's Girlfriend-next-door» in #LoveUntangled ( #고백의역사 )
"The Hong Sisters "
The two Korean sisters who worked in showbizz already in the background, before writing their first drama in 2005.
Which was an instant hit.
Almost all of their dramas became hits, dividing Kdrama-fanworld in Yes !!! or No !!!
Anticipated by many, also by actresses and actors who hope to be selected to be part of the cast.
Thirteen dramas are out now, the next is scheduled for fall 2025, another already promised for 2026.

Speaking of drama actor quests....
"Melo Movie" is a great drama for me to accomplish multiple quests.
From the "Melo Movie" cast I'm currently on quests for:
-- Choi Woo Shik (Parasite fame, friend of Park Hyung Sik)
-- Park Bo Young (Strong Woman & so many more, co-star of Park Hyung Sik)
-- Lee Jun Young (It seems like he's getting more serious working with well-knows actors in this & his next project)
-- Kim Jae Wook ("Her Private Life" & "Crazy Love" so far)
********
I think I may add these actors to my quests
-- Jeon So Nee (starred opposite Park Hyung Sik in "Our Blooming Youth")
-- Cha Woo Min (This is the 1st I've seen him, but he'll be in "Buried Hearts" later this month with Park Hyung Sik)
PS: Park Hyung Sik was one of my early quests.
May 3, Gwangju and area. Visited a traditional market and ate a feast before visiting the bamboo forest. The 245 Building contained 245 bullets from a military sharpshooter who shot from a helicopter. History of the Gwangju Uprising has been carefully preserved and documented. The movement by university students and ordinary people resulted in loss of life and the origins of democracy in Korea.
The #kdrama Youth of May shows the movement.
It’s a holiday weekend. Crowds everywhere
I’m on a #kdrama pilgrimage today, visiting the noodle shop from Nevertheless and most importantly, the railway crossing from #MyMister, a leading character in the show. This is a super cute and trendy area with upscale cafés and restaurants side by side with very old and tiny houses and businesses.

[!!CW!! Synopsis & non-spoilery review.]
Incheon Airport's passenger service team has an enthusiastic, new employee & a stand-offish colleague who have to learn to get along. Great cast with Chae Soo Bin (When the Phone Rings) & Lee Je Hoon (Art of Negotiation) bringing great emotion to a plot that requires suspending disbelief (do they not know how magnets work?).
Something nefarious is happening with an executive, who happens to have a past with the ML. Unfortunately, the mystery, & back story lack details. But the relationships keep it interesting, with a couple of slow romances, & some people on the team learning their value. Seeing behind the scenes of the airport is fun. There is some character development even if the story seems lost at times. It's one of those that had potential & lost it.

Unfortunately on Prime, but I'm very happy for Park Min-young. "The Confidence Man" comes out in 2025.
"The Confidence Man KR is the first Korean drama selected to launch Amazon Prime Video's lineup of Korean originals. Until now, Korean dramas on the platform were featured on a separate Korean drama section, not as part of its lineup of originals.
High Ground stated, "Park Min Young's lead role in an Amazon original drama marks a milestone not only in her career but also in the history of K-content."
To my Korean friends. There's something in the International communities that you probably might want to be aware of:
The view is now shifting that all the "bullying" allegations are fake. People started to notice that whenever a celebrity is rising, there's a very convenient "bullying" allegation.
Of course, who cares about non-Koreans and the perception of International fans, right? It's understandable, your culture, your problems, your own.
But, who knows, maybe it does matter to you guys. Or, it might affect the #Kpop & #Kdrama industries later. So, just a friendly heads-up. 🙇🏽🖖🏽
