hello all!

a lil #introduction post as i’m brand new to mastodon but incredibly intrigued by what i’ve seen while exploring so far :)

i’m danny (they/them), a #nonbinary artist and #insect enthusiast who draws a lot of #nature, especially bugs and mushrooms!! i also take a lot of #photography of nature, and bother people for the identification (i’m a life long learner and knowledge is tasty)!

i’m also working on a #graphicnovel (very early stages) that has a lot to do with the #environment, connecting with community and nature and what it means to belong to a place (also being #queer naturally) :3

some of my other interests include, #gardening, #solarpunk, #sustainability, #crochet, #reading, and #diy!!

Content notices:
- I talk explicitly and positively about transition, hypersexuality, violence, insurrection, my cock, crime, and other such girl things.
- I do not CW: photos of insects; abstract discussions of sex; my shibari ropes, when not being used for kink; crass, vulgar sexual humour.
- Sometimes I post or boost nudes, porn, or kink experiences. These are always CW'd.
- I do not like Marxism and do not trust so-called "communist" parties. Everyone with a police force is my enemy.
- I'm addicted to Mastodon and tend to post lots of long toots.
- Most toots are autodeleted for safety reasons.

My boundaries:
- I will only accept a follow request if your profile makes it clear that you're not pro-capitalism, Zionist, a tankie, a terf, a channer etc.
- Do not @ me photos or descriptions of animal food or other products of animal murder or exploitation. This includes prejudice against insects.
- Anyone posting photos of animal products on my TL without a CW will be muted.

Uh, I'm Veloalopus, I'm a mid twenty-year old male, I'm basically coming here to escape from other social media, I like video games, streaming, art, writing and reading. I love cats and bunnies, my favorite colors are pink and purple.

Je suis autiste. Diagnostiqué (trop) tard, j'essaye de prendre ma revanche en propageant de la vulgarisation où en apportant mon aide comme je le peux à celles et ceux qui sont concernées dans la limite de mon handicap et de l'énergie que les contraintes de la vie me laisse.

Je suis impliqué dans le collectif entraide autisme 44 qui organise un café-rencontre en non-mixité où j'essaye de participer à en faire un lieu d'accueil et de soutien qui permet à celles et ceux qui en ont besoin de rompre leur isolement. Je me suis souvent senti seul dans la vie et ai parfois été mis à l'écart et je ne veux plus que d'autres dans ma situation vivent cette détresse.

The Ten Helpful Suggestions Of John Mastodon

1: Fill out your profile. It doesn’t have to include personal information, but it should give some indication about your vibe.

2: Pin an Introduction toot and use the #Introduction hashtag. Include some of your interests so like-minded people can find you.

3: Use hashtags. Hashtags not only make your toots more findable, but it also allows others to filter out toots on subjects that they would prefer to avoid. Use camelCase or PascalCase in hashtags. This will make it more readable for sighted users, and also help users that use screen readers. You can also follow a hashtag. Try following #Audrey.

4: Add AltText to your images. There are many blind Mastodon users. Providing AltText to your images makes them accessible, but also gives you an opportunity to give additional context. AltText is very important to much of the community, so much so that some will refuse to boost/share an image without it.

5: Use content warnings (CW) liberally, and combine with hashtags in the toot body. While a CW will hide the content, an accompanying hashtag will allow people to filter out that content entirely. For instance, a NSFW post should have NSFW in the content warning as well as a #NSFW hashtag in the body, because hashtags don’t work in the CW.

6: Follow liberally. Mastodon provides plenty of ways to curate your timeline, but first you need to follow people. Remember, if you decide that someone you followed posts content that isn’t for you, you can unfollow them, or set filters to hide the posts you don’t want to see. Try following @dgar now!

7: Support your instance. Toss a coin to your admin and moderators for all the work they do.

8: Be respectful. Polite and respectful discussion of supremely sensitive topics take place every day on Mastodon. There is no place for bigotry here. Trolls and bad actors are usually dealt with swiftly.

9: Be mindful of your privacy and security. Do not post sensitive or personally identifying information about yourself or anyone else, even in a DM or PM.

10: Participate! Boost posts you like. Boosting is how toots spread on Mastodon, so boost liberally. It makes you an active participant in what content is seen. You may see people say “You are the algorithm”.
Bookmark interesting stuff for later. Have fun! Meet interesting people! Listen to new music! Get involved in interesting discussions!
Share memes and toot bad jokes! Share your knowledge, stories, and art! Connect with people and make the world a better place!
