Dryad, a poster illustration for the Geek Faeries Festival.

#krita #illustration #digitalpainting #fantasy #dryad

A digital painting with an artwork showing a dryad, silver hair and leaf-tipped ears in a sunlit forest. Also living vines curl around her shoulders and torso and a small purple bird perches on her shoulder. Golden grass gives a good saturation boost in the yellow in the background.

A darkening purple sky that still has a reddish glow. Placed in the middle of a dark purple meadow is a stack of three boxes. The lowermost box is blue, with a bright green and red eye on it. The middle box is purple, and has several orange and yellow stars, as well as two google eyes, stuck to it. The topmost box is a rusty red, and has a radioactive-green question mark painted on it in drippy paint. There are a few stars speckling the sky. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A bright yellow sky with a bright white sun. Beneath it is a green glass cylinder with a domed top, the sort of thing that wealthy 19th-century chaps who dabbled in science kept their sinister biological curios in. This one looks a little more contemporary—maybe even futuristic, with a few pipes going into it and a greenish metal base with some vents and dials. A person or being of some sort is dimly visible through the glass. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A hot yellow-gold desert with hazy mountains in the background. Sticking up out of the sand is a pole with a beam sticking off it, kind of like a mailbox post. Sitting on the beam is an odd character: heavyset, dressed all in brown with a few sundry patches, wearing cowboy boots and a hat with a brim. Sticking out of the hat is a yellow feather. The figure has an oddly angular face: a long, blocky nose and empty eyes. It looks like a mask. The figure is holding a blazing white ball in its hand, staring at it. The sun sits low on the horizon, also a blazing white ball. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A huge moon sits in the dark blue night sky, hovering above a darkened city like an impending apocalypse. There are no stars. The moon has a blazing greenish-white crescent on the left, with the dark part visible. A dull tint of moonlight is visible on the dark buildings. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

An eerily blurry scene: a tree with long, thin, wavy branches stands against a white sky. Hanging from one of the branches is a crude swing with nobody on it. The entire scene is rough, grainy, and rendered in shades of dark blue, gray, white, and tinges of green. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A dark, heavily clouded night. The entire scene is greenish. Looming up from a hill is a tall, narrow skyscraper, with only one window lit at the top. On the roof of the skyscraper are several antennae, two with lights on them. Sticking out of the side of the skyscraper, inexplicably, is a hand crank. At the base of the skyscraper, blazing over the top of the hill, is an eerie green light from an unknown source. Approaching the skyscraper on the right is a small figure, holding a staff with a glowing green light at the top. A dim treeline is visible in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A thin tree with only a few tall, straight branches and no leaves stands against a red sky. A yellow sun, or maybe a full moon, sits in the sky above a blurry treeline. At the base of the trunk is a small arched doorway glowing yellow, casting a yellowish light out onto the grass. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall vertical concrete face sticks out of sloped, rocky ground. Imagine a tenement building, except it has no windows and one large, round conduit opening at the base. Green moss covers the rocks and forms drip patterns leading down from the opening of the pipe. A few faded tags of graffiti are on one side. The sky is eerily green, with a dim treeline in the background. A hunched, goblinesque figure stands on the rocky ground outside the pipe, looking into a small mailbox. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Three tall rectangular objects that look sort of like skyscrapers stand at varying distances against a yellowish green sky. They are not buildings, and have no windows. Each has an uneven surface texture, and a single eye at the top. All three are staring at a figure in front of them, holding a sword. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A vast gray hilly meadow under a vast gray cloudy sky. Wandering through the meadow is a tall figure with a traffic signal for a head. The orange signal is lit. A few birds circle overhead. A hazy sun sits in the top right. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A ghost that resembles the Apple ghost emoji – arms up, tongue stuck out, left eye larger than the other — hovers over a blue mountain under a blue night sky. The ghost has a pink tongue. One eye is yellow, the other eye is green, and both eyes have two concentric circles inside them. A hazy moon sits in the top right of the sky. There is a slight greenish glow around the horizon. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

A tall boulder with a craggy, frowning face carved into it stands under a clear blue night sky. On the left side of the boulder is a small arched doorway casting pale green light out onto the ground. Hovering above the boulder's head is a glowing green halo. A few foggy trees are visible in the background. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Don Quixote in the Study by Gustave Doré (1862)
The scene where Don Quixote, a ‘book madman’, falls into a knight saga and loses his sense of reality. It is humorous yet fantastically portrayed.

Several machines of indeterminate function and purpose, piled like boxes in a dull gray space. The machines have round holes, buttons, and dials, and are old and slightly rusty. The top one is blue, the middle one is red, and the lowest is a greenish gray. A person is standing on the second one, touching the topmost. The painting is signed "Chris Silverman".

Ko-Fi sketch reward for @rowyn: Zhenshay & Moon!

I had so much fun portraying Zhenshay's vantablack skin contrasted with Moon's white fur. Less detail is more, sometimes!

You can read more about them here: https://mastodon.art/@rowyn/116596729324198506

Zhenshay is a warlock with vantablack skin, a result of his experiments with potions. He has long horns, bright purple eyes and extremely long, shiny purple hair and a tail with a tuft. He is smiling at the viewer and cuddling his one-eyed white cat, Moon.
