More posts on TYFTH tomorrow, but for now an early TYFTH Live announcement - planning a 'best of 2024' set for Sunday evening, 21:00 JST. Might not be as smooth as usual so I can fit everything in, but there'll be at least a few that haven't been mentioned on TYFTH yet!

PS.
I'm really lazy so after I made the chinese version I use deepl to translate it and upload here.
—————————
I suddenly felt like writing this while having dinner.
I realised I hadn't written anything yet, so I quickly picked some fun songs.
The order doesn't matter; I just picked the ones that came to mind first.
————
My Top 10? (Freeform & HardNRG)
1. Lab4 - Resurrection (hase remix)
One of the best tracks by hase, in my opinion. As a loyal fan of Lab4 (?), the track is sufficiently intense.
Only a few people like guld have it, and only romance of nrg 2 has featured a snippet of this mix.
——
2. Alek Szahala - Vengeance 2007
This is a very unique song. When I was digging alek, I was attracted by the unique atmosphere of the original version. At that time, I felt that this freeform was ethereal and dark, so I have always had a soft spot for vengeance. If I were to recommend alek to others, I would recommend this one. (What constitutes Alek's top 5 is likely to spark intense debate.)
——
3. Epilim - Rapid Fire
Included specifically for Epilim. It perfectly captures the initial state of Finnish NRG. When working on Finnish Dark Set, I always reminded myself that no matter what tracks I included, epilime had to be part of the selection.
——
4. Nomic - Holocaust
Trip to Heaven 2k5 and Holocaust were one of the reasons I started digging early Nomic, and they're important to me. The melody of Holocaust has always stuck with me; I love his early tracks that are sacred, tragic, and emotionally charged.
——
5. Qygen - 721
I thought I'd choose Exit 133
The psychedelic cosmic feel of 721 really resonated with me, and I love it.
What Qygen showcases here is his signature Goa freeform NRG in the first half, followed by the calmer break in the second half, which really attract me, and the intense climax at the end, coupled with the harder kick he often uses in the final section to match the intense feeling, left a deep impression on me.
——
6. Betwixt & Between - like a flame
At first I was moved by 'Point of no return' and 'Discord', then I was struck by the emotion of this song.
It's great that almost all of my favourite touhou tunes have been remixed by BTW. I already loved the quietness of the Fires of Hokkai and couldn't resist the btw's synth, Then btw's remix reinforced everything I loved about the original tune.
Perhaps I can't leave this guy's songs.
(Perhaps there is a world where he remixed all the Secret Sealing Club music albums
(is that possible?
——
7. Betwixt & Between - liberation
“俗にいう自爆テロなん”
“かは、自らの未来に一筋の希望も持てなくなった时に起こす最终手段なんです。”
“だから彼らには、自発的に自立を促していく必要があるんです。”
“という名の自由を与えてね”
GIS's sampling is one reason I like this song, and another is that its energy is too intense, making it suitable to pair with the previous track (but I couldn't resist choosing two of BTW's tracks).
——
8. PlasmaDancer - Cyhyraeth
Just wrote whatever came to mind. This song is the one that best captures the dark feeling I've been aiming for in recent years, and since Plasma is my favourite Freeform DJ, I reserved a spot for him here.
——
9. Eclipse - Stairway to Brooklyn
Old UK psychedelic energy Freeform. I ended up choosing this one (though not surprisingly), and it could be considered my template for excellent UK Freeform?
Though it sounds strange, Eclipse is indeed what I think British Freeform should be like (though I’ve been listening Ephexis more lately).
From 2010 on, uk style seemed somewhat weak and lacking in energy
How should I put it? I just find it pretty boring, and seldom take any tracks to my collection.
——
10. Carbon Based - illuminate
Hey, it's you, guy (it's you, guy).
Following my instincts like this is pretty fun. The old CB style is illuminate; that's the impression it gives me, neither cyclone nor anger ball.
Placing it in the top 10 is a bit tricky, but since this list is improvised, it fits.
(Of course, this is also in the unfinished finrg notes; when this part will be finished depends on when I'm not being lazy.)
Illuminate is a track with a strong early CB-style psytrance vibe, and the influence of Epilim can still be heard in the middle section.

I've never heard this track before, based on some details it's a really old lost track.
No doubt a epic NRG, with sick, mad synths and full of darkness atmosphere, some crazy sounds from DJ Rx remind me of his classic, the 'eternal canon' remix.
If I had a complaint, it would be that I couldn't get the track from finrg.

A little different, but I could only use this released version preview
I found the xochitlan version these days and heard it, it's quiter and has a deeper color (perhaps due to the lack of many radical filtered hoover synths, but it gain others).
in the middle part of xochitlan ver, I heard something familiar, like the heavy and violent synths from epilim's rapid fire, it's no doubt everyone who is the member of early finrg crews under Epilim's influence, but it's a suprise, because when I think about similar things the only track from alek in my mind is his Maruuk, influenced by plasma.
and of course, I also checked out the sunray xochitlan version, it's really has a big different from the unfinished forever edit, dirty and nasty distorted sound, very familiar 00's Alek's dark freeform style, I may like this one more than forever edit, it's not mean which one is better, but I really enjoy this darkness feeling.

Sometimes I think the luckiest thing I meet when heard fin's NRG is that I could hear epilim's tracks.
(always thanks for taskubilistonni's sharing)
I thinkfirst time I knew about this track from a share by plasmadancer.(emmmmm I remember second time heard this one probably in proteus's hard nrg mix)
It's really make me excited, when I heard all early finrg sounds appeared in a track I never know, and he use them so easily.
03:09 start, which I love most, and the part before it, make a really aicd powerful buildup,A hyper power chainsaw, a deep heavy hoover machine, old trancy, heavy and twisted synths destroy all enemies.
I'm glad when I found some djs played this one, of course other his tracks also could make me crazy
(I must say I love a live video of proteus, I remembered he played plasma , and all ravers screaming when it's breakdown coming)

I'm back to a really early time, some of old hard trance in these times sound a little boring, because of lots of long intros, and other elements, but this one give me a really comfortable experience, and the rhythm start at 3:26 is my love.
