I actually took the photo this digitally hand-painted image is based on in the garden of our old house in Maryland many years ago. So this sweet little black-eyed Susan is actually saying goodbye to 2013's summer. I can't help wondering if the new owners of our house kept the black-eyed Susans as part of the gardens. I hope they did.
