📷 Met Bella in the Ingles parking lot this afternoon. She's an elder, fiercely protective of her Papa. ❤️
📷 Y'all, this will be the view through the window in front of my desk. No bear sightings, but meeting an elk is almost a certainty. ❤️
📷 A new friend () hosted me for lunch today at FAT BUDDIES RIBS & BBQ in Waynesville.
Coming out of the MEN'S, I saw this shot through a dark dining room, to the register up front. The human in the door frame photobombed the pic to great effect, I think! ❤️

📷 Stopped by the Circle K this afternoon to say goodbye to "Lil'" Kim.
There are two Kim's on staff, and co-workers nicknamed them "Big Kim" and "Lil' Kim." She's a self-described "Old Hillbilly hippie daughter of a preacher!"
I love making her laugh. "Eddie! You're crazy! ❤️

📹 #HurricaneHelene | One year ago tonight, in the early hours of September 27th, I drove to the Circle K to gas-up the Fiat and buy batteries, bottled water and ice. We lost power about 3 AM.
The damage here in the Upcountry of SC was minor compared to the devastation in Western NC, but the thunder and lightning, rain and high winds were frightening. How bad would it get?
