<p>We put a lot of work into both <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> and <a href="/tags/holossocial/" rel="tag">#HolosSocial</a>. We will never neglect one for the other, both deserve attention. Holos allowed us to push boundaries like E2EE DMs over ActivityPub and portable identity, but Fedilab is the app we&#x27;ve been working on since 2017 and will keep integrating new features. This is your app, not ours. Alongside all this, we are volunteers, so if you can help us financially, that would really help. Thank you.</p>

<p>Since <a href="/tags/neodb/" rel="tag">#NeoDB</a> also has a &quot;social&quot; feature, it&#x27;s awesome that we can login in <a href="/tags/fediverse/" rel="tag">#Fediverse</a> apps. <p>The fediverse now has a mobile-first personal server called Holos by @HolosSocial (via <span class="h-card"><a href="https://toot.fedilab.app/@apps" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>apps</span></a></span>). It&#x27;s a full ActivityPub server that runs on your Android device (iOS coming soon). <p><a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> remembers your position (and updates your Mastodon marker, so you can keep the same position between apps). Of course it has a limit when cache is enabled. If you have an active Home timeline, the app will remember your position but you might end up in a gap where many messages are no longer available on your instance. We introduced background Home retrieval while you don&#x27;t use the app. It&#x27;s not perfect but it helps. Otherwise, you can disable cache in settings.</p>

<p>Fedilab continues to surprise me with features that I missed. Open a profile and go to &#x27;Media&#x27;. This gives you a great view of all the media on the account—only media, no text. One tap opens the media, as expected. What I didn&#x27;t know is that tapping and holding brings you to the corresponding post. <img src="https://eggplant.place/media/emoji/mastodon.world/floofHappy.png" class="emoji" alt=":floofHappy:" title=":floofHappy:"></p><p><a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> <a href="/tags/fedilabtips/" rel="tag">#fedilabTips</a></p>

<p>While <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> embeds its own translation feature (default option uses our <a href="/tags/libretranslate/" rel="tag">#LibreTranslate</a> service), you can also use <a href="/tags/lingva/" rel="tag">#Lingva</a> or <a href="/tags/deepl/" rel="tag">#DeepL</a> if you have an API key.<br>But we have to add the ability to let you use your instance as an option to translate messages. That will be done.</p>

<p>Maybe an old unknown feature of <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a>. <p>Tomorrow, we should be able to release <a href="/tags/fedilab/" rel="tag">#Fedilab</a> 3.34.0 in production.</p><p>This release comes with the fix of two old annoying bugs:</p><p>- Selection of the text that stops working when composing<br>- Crashes when the fit preview image feature is enabled.</p><p>It will also fix a recent crash with conversations. </p><p>It will add the quoting support for Mastodon and also improve the experience with highlighted hashtags. </p><p>Three dots button menu will now be displayed for remote messages.</p>
