A little-advertised bridge just appeared between the Fediverse and Twitter founder Dorsey's new social network. It intends to bridge accounts that don't opt out.

Doing this as opt out is a pretty immoral thing to do. Also unclear how legal opt-out bridges are in some countries. The bridge is using these domains:

snarfed.org
brid.gy

Server admins may want to defederate these to prevent their members being bridged without their knowledge or permission.

Between 5:12am and 6:15am UTC mstdn.plus was hit with 111 registrations that are suspected to be part of the Japanese-language spam. (They have been intercepted and no spam was resulted.)

1. The accounts have "$USERNAME@chitthi.in" as email.
2. They appear to be using Tor exit nodes. Some IPs involved (number of accounts):
- 185.220.101.0/24 (33)
- 192.42.116.0/24 (30)
- 185.220.100.0/24 (8)
Frantech IPs also observed.

as:Public will support (one-way) bridging to #BlueSky in a future release, along with account search (they both require that I add the concept of accounts)

As always, collection of statuses occurs from public firehose feeds, so instance blocks will not affect collection or bridging.

The amount of bullying I'm seeing towards the developers of an already-existing bridge is simply unacceptable. One of the primary goals behind the #asPublic project is to show that this sort of antisocial behavior is not how one gets what they want.

They are using it to feed their AI and track content across the Fediverse without consent.

We're going ahead and adding `miniwa.moe` to our list of suspended servers across #MastodonAppUK #Universeodon and #MedMastodon as there appears to be no active moderation taking place and reports of transphobic behaviour have been ignored by their moderators.

I'm not expecting this to impact the vast majority of folks across our instances but you might see a follower / following drop by 1 or 2.

Just a note for some of the other #MastoAdmin 's out there - On Universeodon.com we've seen a huge number of reports for an account due to it being a new account with no posts and a very large follower / following count.

As far as I can currently see and based on the info provided when they requested an account it's migrating from another instance. As far as I can see the account is in fact legitimate but we will keep an eye as I appreciate it is "Weird" having a 0 post account with thousands of followers / following relationships all of a sudden.

If anyone does see anything weird with any of the accounts on the instances please do report it as it is appreciated. I can't directly reply to these reports so didn't want folks to think it had been entirely ignored!
