I've finished: Doughter from the Dark by Marina & Sergey DyachenkoDaughter from the Dark is perhaps the opposite of a cozy found family novel. This is a Russian novel, the universe isn't there to cuddle you. The view point character, D.J. Aspirin (Alexi) is the worst kind of reluctant hero, a self centered asshole of a man.
