We will keep our hearts and doors open for those fleeing Russia’s war of aggression.

This is why we propose to extend our temporary protection scheme for Ukrainians until 2026.

It has been a key tool in providing shelter for 4.2 million beneficiaries and giving them access to jobs, training, housing and healthcare, among other things.

We will keep standing with Ukraine.

We stand as one against wildfires.

Greece has activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism to fight the ongoing wildfires in Attica.

Our response has already mobilised:

✈️ 2 planes and 2 helicopters from the #rescEU fleet

🧑‍🚒 8 firefighting teams with vehicles, 4 from 🇫🇷 and one each from 🇨🇿 🇷🇴 🇮🇹 🇷🇸

This is #EUsolidarity in action.

🇪🇺🇺🇦 Our solidarity with Ukraine is unshakable – the EU’s largest medical evacuation operation shows it.

Since Russia’s brutal invasion in 2022, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism has coordinated the evacuation of over 3,600 Ukrainian patients to hospitals in 22 European countries.

Our EU MEDEVAC hub in 🇵🇱 Rzeszów, we have also ensured swift transfers and a safe space for vulnerable patients.

We #StandWithUkraine for as long as it takes.

Devastating floods severely hit these countries in 2023.

Today, we are proposing €1 billion in financial support from the EU Solidarity Fund to cover part of the recovery operations, including:

🏗️ Repairing damaged infrastructure
🏛️ Safeguarding cultural heritage
🧹 Conducting clean-up operations

Just as in 2023, we keep standing with the affected communities.

Today, President von der Leyen is in 🇵🇱 Wrocław to visit the areas recently affected by heavy floods and rains in Central Europe.

She also discussed the response with the leaders of Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Austria.

Through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the EU is working to provide emergency equipment.

When the time comes, we will be ready to help rebuild.

🇪🇸🤝🇪🇺 España no está sola.

Following devastating floods, Spain activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism, prompting a swift response from France and Portugal, who stepped in to assist, with waste management and recovery.

Other EU countries have also expressed their readiness to help, and we remain in constant contact with Spanish authorities to provide further assistance as needed.

#EUSolidarity means standing together when it matters most.

After Spain activated the #EUCivilProtection Mechanism in response to devastating floods, Portugal and France swiftly stepped in to help.

🤝 Over 150 team members and 60 vehicles joined forces with Spanish authorities, working tirelessly to clear streets of debris, pump out water and mud, remove vehicles, and transport rubble.

When we work together, we are stronger.

Their dedication embodies #EUSolidarity, shared by countries that offered immediate assistance through our #EUCivilProtection Mechanism.

In addition to the 🇪🇺 countries,🇦🇱, 🇧🇦, 🇮🇸, 🇲🇩, 🇲🇪, 🇲🇰, 🇳🇴, 🇷🇸 🇹🇷 and 🇺🇦, work shoulder to shoulder to deliver the required assistance.
