Too bad info: links in Org mode do not come with search options. Linking to GNU Guile’s procedure descriptions would have been useful now that I’m reading those info nodes.

Sad news: The Living Computer Museum in Seattle won't reopen and the collection, including the historic PDP-10, pivotal to the origins of #Emacs and #FreeSoftware, is set to be auctioned. One of their PDP-10, the second to be named AI, still has MIT's "Deactivated Property" sticker prominently displayed on the front panel. What will become of these technological treasures? It's a moment for reflection on how we preserve our digital heritage. https://www.geekwire.com/2024/seattles-living-computers-museum-logs-off-for-good-as-paul-allen-estate-will-auction-vintage-items/ #TechHistory #SoftwareFreedom
It's quite strange how programming in #commonlisp with #emacs and #sly can cause such a continuous drip of satisfying sensations...

Quite in depth. I am interested in talking here about what you think about my working-on-right-now directions. I decided that where-I-am-expecting-to-go-next is a different post.
In a nutshell, exploring my eev #markdown idiom, programs-using-each-other-like-people-do specifically #lisp image ⬌ emacs, and moving towards parenscript cl-kitten highly local community federation.

Minimal case of starting a #lisp #ecl image outside of emacs running common lisp interface manager, then connecting to the image from inside emacs - working with mcclim, closing emacs, the external lisp image with the gui created in emacs is still there. Party trick for days.
This is the necessary precedent for writing exciting using-clim-as-intended articles. Also I have an emacs folder now.
TIL about #Emacs
If Emacs is slow to respond, you can analyse runtime behaviour with the built-in profiler.
1. Start the profiler (`M-x profiler-start`) for CPU usage.
2. Do a bit of representative work for a short while.
3. Stop the profiler (`M-x profiler-report`).
4. Check the report buffer for function calls that are high in relative CPU time.

Maybe I'm going a bit too far with with "usual" text editing keybindings for Emacs, but I finally have some consistency between emacs and the rest of the places, where I type text (including other text editors).

@daviwil thanks for the stream on #emacs in terminal, that's allowed me to rediscover ido-mode, which replaces vertico just fine after all!
The presentation is live now, and I am available for questions in the “Big Blue Button” chat room. Feel free to ask me questions here on ActivityPub.

Left in the mode line only input method, buffer modified indicator, buffer name and overwrite indicator. Let’s see how ðat will go.
I guess, Emacs gives me ðat feeling I had when I played wið construction set toys during my childhood 🤭

dafuck is this trying to tell me? I'm in an #OrgMode document and it keeps showing me these square brackets in the status bar at the bottom. It's only in THIS document though.
I thought maybe I had some broken link tags or something but there are zero square brackets in this document. (confirmed with grep and ripgrep)

Looks like #obsidian shot itself in the foot with that webviewer... It looks like many users aren't happy with it. Is it based on #chrome ? What about data and #privacy ?
I love the KISS¹ and *nix approach, one tool for one purpose. Never been a fan of products trying to do everything for you.
Maybe that's why I prefer #vim to #emacs 🤷🏽♂️
