It is extremely difficult to see your aging parent slip further and further away from you in their mind and body. Dad has been in the hospital since Thursday because of weak legs causing him to fall. Short term rehab is next, but may need to make a difficult decision for long term.
He’s done fairly well until recently. The trip to Michigan to attend to my brother and his subsequent death was the turning point for dad in terms of his physical strength and endurance. Much more confused and further into dementia. Slipping away before my very eyes.
