I'd like to take 2 seconds this morning and thank all the #commons janitors who do the ungrateful and unseen work of trying to increase #fedi's #cohesion and #culture.
#Janitors are #People who find it important to connect people. They spread bits of #information they find to other people for whom it may be useful. Usually in hopes that #attraction occurs between formerly unrelated parties, such as #stimulating a #collaboration between #fediverse projects.
Janitors *weave* #SocialFabric.. ✊

Were the artists frenemies, rivals, or creative soulmates? All of the above, it seems.

Musidora: The Bather 'At the Doubtful Breeze Alarmed', also known as The Bather, is a name given to four nearly identical oil paintings on canvas by English artist William Etty. The paintings illustrate a scene from James Thomson's 1727 poem Summer in which a young man accidentally sees a young woman bathing naked and is torn between his desire to look and his knowledge that he ought to look away.

The Rewilding of Society
A better life is possible. All we have to do is slow down and enjoy it, so we’ll actually have something to talk about. I’ll see you down there. I have stories to tell.

An example of #culture clash, in many Asian countries, this is fine. It doesn't matter if you're a stranger. You want to pay respects? Sure. You want to just eat? By all means. Just don't be rude is the only unbreakable rule. And in some Asian cultures, the mourning must be very lively, not sad.

If you haven’t reached the age yet, you will inevitably arrive at a point where you say, “These damn kids today and their [insert grievance here],” Julianna Ress writes for The Ringer. Ress takes us on a fascinating journey through this absurd time-honored behavior in “The Eternal Cycle of Hating the Next Generation (Gen Z edition). Have some fun as you read along and say to yourself “I would never …” or “Oh, yeah, I do that all the time.”
