When I pull my phone out of my pocket and turn on the screen, it takes a few seconds for the screen to reach full brightness.
Reminds me of a #CRT warming up.
Although in this case it's because the automatic brightness control is taking a moment to sense and react to the change in ambient light level, and not anything to do with the screen itself (which can change brightness instantly).
But still. It reminds me of my childhood.
