Y’all. I did it. I just published my very first macOS app. 🎉

It’s a color contrast checker for accessibility compliance. I designed and built it for myself, but I’m also gifting it to the world.

It’s not in the App Store, but it is signed for safety. And it will let you know when there’s an update.

I’m a little giddy about it. 😊

Still looking how to balance your VMs in #Proxmox clusters? #ProxLB 1.1.9 is here!

This release adds features that were requested during the #DutchProxmoxDay2025 which was hosted by our friends Tuxis (tuxis.nl). I'm hearing your feedback and all your feedback from the community and user base is important to me, so let me introduce the following new features:

* Add an optional memory balancing threshold
* Add affinity/anti-affinity support by pools
* Add pressure (PSI) based balancing for memory, cpu, disk
* Pressure (PSI) based balancing for nodes
* Pressure (PSI) based balancing for guests

You can simply upgrade via APT or by obtaining the latest Docker/Container image. PSI based balancing (still in beta) requires Proxmox VE 9 or greater.

I'm playing around with an LCARS colour theme for @novelwriter, based on the colours of the display screens on Star Trek TNG and related shows.

Of course, since it is a text app, the layout doesn't look anything like LCARS, so it kind of works and it kind of doesn't. 😅

Edit: Dropped the green colour and updated the screenshot. That helped a bit.

Let it snow! ❄️

I have added snow to my instance during the winter holidays. It's a tiny JS canvas and fades out on scroll down. The snow is also respecting the system accessibility settings, it won't be there if you prefer reduced motion.

Nowadays programming in a programming language I don't use daily seems to always require an upgrade cascade of editors, tools, plugins, dependencies, libraries, my DNA, ??? I put some effort into keeping my environment static but all it takes is one autoupgrading thing I missed to kick off one of these cascades, and it feels like whack-a-mole trying to find and lock down every possible cause. This time it looks like a newer version of scala metals might have stopped supporting Java 11 and somehow got updated without my knowledge (maybe? I'm guessing).

P.S. This is not an invitation to post critiques about any of these technologies or recommendations about what I should be doing instead.
