After the EU parliament has rejected it TWICE in the past, it has been pushed as an urgent procedure for a new plenary vote. The EU has simply continued to put the vote on the agenda to get the outcome they've wanted since the start.
This is not democratic‼️

Yes, the #ChatControl vote today was a farce. BUT. End to end encrypted messages are excluded from scanning through an amendment. So #UseSignal or other secure E2E solutions, as you should anyway.

Yesterday was a sad day for the privacy of citizens in the EU given the extension of #ChatControl 1.0, allowing for voluntary scanning of private communications.
In light of yesterday's vote, we wanted to remind you that: Chat Control 1.0 is different from Chat Control 2.0 in that providers (like us at Tuta) are not forced to backdoor their end-to-end encryption for surveillance.
TLDR: Something something about a sex thing, ,anti #chatcontrol discourse and an imaginary legality of an investigation. On top of that, the #chatcontrol1 lovers couldn't keep their mouth shut. Hence, the still ongoing aftermath.
Une pétition circule pour dire non à Chat Control je vous mets le lien en dessous. Protéger les enfants c'est leur excuse pref alors qu'on sait très bien qu'iels en ont rien à faire. Tracer les minorités et opposant.e.s à terme et faciliter les répressions c'est ça le vrai objectif. Faut rien lâcher et réfléchir à comment contrer ça.

Il Parlamento europeo ha approvato la proroga di Chat Control 1.0 fino al 2028. La crittografia end-to-end non viene compromessa, ma resta aperto il dibattito sulla scansione delle comunicazioni private e sul futuro di Chat Control 2.0. Ecco tutto quello che c’è da sapere.
