oh yeah #caturday. I actually have something to post.

we adopted this nutso two weeks ago and it's the first kitten the kids have had so they're in heaven and the cat is batshit crazy.

she's under a year old but is runty, so she's smaller than you'd think a 7 month old should be. and our other cats absolutely dwarf her, especially the 19 pound tank.

Everyone wants to help clean the heat pump filters...for some reason.

And I only have one cat. Even neighbor cat came by to help.

Inside of a bathtub, the 2 blue filters that slide out of the heat pump are standing on their edge drying off. They just had their quarterly rinse to clean off the dust.

A small calico is checking them out, inside the damp tub. Buddy the neighbor cat seems to want to do something as he perches on the edge with a paw going into the tub, but he's not fully committing to helping and inspecting the work like the calico.

Two years ago I taught my cat to ring a bell for food. In the first year he only rang it at reasonable meal intervals. Then he started a pattern of ringing but not eating, instead jogging to another room. I took the bell away whenever he did that, and he started rattling dishes purposefully—but not eating. It took me a while to figure out that each time he didn’t eat, he went to look at the drawer where we keep the cat dancer/flirt toys. Now I have to get a different bell for playtime! #Caturday

For the first time in months, I forced myself to get off the f—ing computer and go for a f—ing walk, where I met this little guy...

If at all possible, go outside sometime...

...your brain may stay in its spiral

...you may not notice any beauty

...but you may just encounter a random #cat in the middle of Amish farmland (who has no respect for it not being #Caturday) and be reminded for a moment that life...life is a thing
