Here’s a follow-up pic of Lola, who loves to sit on the desk as I’m working to “help” me.

And that’s not sarcasm … she really is a big help. She loves to communicate. Here she’s saying “Whatchoo talkin’ ‘bout, Willis?”

(Now, that was sarcasm.)

She’s incredibly attentive, though, and anything I focus my attention on immediately becomes the focus of hers … a phenomenon all cat lovers are familiar with.

Today marks the second anniversary of Lola Falafel’s arrival here at her forever home. She’s the sweetest cat, and I love her immensely.

She’s already had some of her special catnip, and she’s got extra treats and goodies for later on.

It’s absolutely frigid outside – 10º F – but she has a warm spot on the sofa, lying on her heating pad and basking by the portable radiator.

This photo of Tennessee eating isn't anything special. What *is* special is that, for the first time in the over four years we've been together, he's responding to me calling his name.

He spends most of his time in my office now, where he has a nice window seat and where he knows he can come onto my desk to get petting and treats — but when I put fresh wet food out and call to him, he comes!

And today he let me pick him to cuddle him without complaining! That's new, too.
