1. Thankful for my 91+ year old dad. Despite his frustrations at aging, he continues to show and exhibit much grace and compassion to those around him.

Max, a tabby cat, died on Sunday after a long illness. He was 14.
All cats are goodest cats and I have known many goodest cats in my life. But Max was a truly Great Cat, a once-in-a-lifetime cat. He loved all people, other cats, and even the red bushy-tailed doggies outside. He was always at the door to greet us when we came home and always there to be a comfort if we were upset.
I miss him so much.
He was a frequent visitor to #Caturday and #CatsOfMastodon so I thought you should know. 💔

For #caturday, this is our current foster, Maria (also known as Chaos Plushie). She is very sweet, very soft, and made of chaos.
Most notable achievement to date: stepping on a sticky moth trap while exploring a closet, then running through the apartment in a panic with it stuck to her foot.
Second notable achievement: climbing the coats in a different closet and running along on top of the coat hangers.
Very cat. Much chaos. Wow.
2/2 I was riding my bike home from the supermarket, and had only a couple blocks to go,
when I found this pet carrier/cage sitting on the curb – in brand-new shape.
I’m afraid there must be a sad story behind this …
but I’ve been promising Lola (who loves to sit in the kitchen window, watching the back yard)
that I’d get her a cage so I could take her downstairs for a closer look. So I brought it home!

one I’ve since put out of reach, because all my best guesses say the shamrock-like greenery is harmful to cats.
Don’t worry – I’ve cut away all the wild growth, and put the pot where she can’t get to it.
It looks like clover, but I don’t think it is … it has little seed pods that explode when you touch them (!) and a few tiny yellow flowers open every now and then.
Any guesses what it is?

Tennessee comes bounding into the office to join me now — as though it's no big deal, not something he refused to do for three and a half years. He meows to demand cuddles, head butts and treats.
