Aside from hour improper this is and the likelihood that it'll work, if the appointment thing works, then Hunter Biden's far better appointment claim gets fast-tracked.

New: Judge #Cannon in #Trump classified #documents case accepts two amicus briefs filed by Trump-adjacent lawyers that “may be of considerable help” re Trump motions to dismiss — ominous for Special Counsel. 1st says NARA referral flawed and 2nd says #JackSmith improperly appointed. #legal

JUST IN: Judge #Cannon DENIES #Trump’s motion to dismiss the classified #documents case based on the presidential records act.
In the same order, Judge Cannon also denies the special counse #JackSmith’s request for a prompt ruling on jury instructions prior to trial.

Dozens of fed judges attended wk-long seminars at luxury retreats -receiving free rms, free meals, free $ for travel worth 1000s - & failed to fully disclose as required.
Judges w disclosure issues incl some big names.
Aileen #Cannon, currently presiding over #Trump’s docs case, attended 2wk-long seminars at lux resort near Yellowstone Nat Park...failed to upload disclosure w/in 30 days as required.
Court said it was an “inadvertent” omission.
Roger Parloff did a 🧵on #Trump #documents trial. Sigh.
As Trump’s classified docs prosecution goes forward, now w no pretense of trial before the election, Judge #Cannon appears poised to permit him to use pub hearings in the case to sound his campaign themes. 1/… #legal

Too many, huh? Imposition? Well, now you know how we feel.
A federal appeals court has stopped accepting public complaints against Judge Aileen #Cannon — many seeking her recusal from the classified documents case against #Trump — citing a flood of 1,000 filings in recent weeks that appear to be part of 'an orchestrated campaign.' #legal

JUST IN: Judge #Cannon entering an Order denying #Trump's motion for a Franks hearing, but reserving ruling on the balance of his "Motion for Relief Relating to the Mar-a-lago Raid and Unlawful Piercing of Attorney-Client Privilege."

Judge #Cannon gave #Trump’s prosecutors a rough reception at today’s hearing on the special counsel’s funding, even doing an on-the-spot line item review of their recent disclosures.
#JackSmith was on hand in court to watch it.
Court is in recess. More soon.

Judge #Cannon wrote: "Mr. Smith is a private citizen exercising the full power of a United States Attorney, and with very little oversight or supervision."
All wrong: he is a part of the Department of Justice and subject to all the rules of the Department of Justice. That is explicit in the Special Counsel regulations.

Exactly right.
