Rosie and Michael by Judith Viorst and Lorna Tomei (Illustrations) (1974) is a picture book celebration of a solid, life-long relationship. Rosie and Michael take turns in this book explaining the hows and whys of their friendship. Each of their examples are then illustrated in intricate pen and ink drawings.

On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder is a valuable thing to have by your side in these times of increasing fascism.

Each chapter begins with a short bit of advice as it's title, followed by a sentence or two on it's potential importance. The rest of the chapter provides concrete historical examples.

Each chapter is short, and the book is only 126 pages. Possibly the most valuable thing that you could ever read.

I'm going to be posting the first page of each chapter, because of how important I think it is to share these ideas. Please boost if you feel them useful.

I've finished: The Siege of Burning Grass by Premee Mohamed

The Siege of Burning Grass has an interesting premise: It offers us the pacifist option for resistance against a fascist regime during a brutal war.

A very relevant subject in 2025.

Sadly the protagonist needs a hell of allot of narrative armor to live through many of the situations he faces.

Lizard Music by Daniel Pinkwater (1976) is a short science fiction involving lizards, an ever present Chicken Man, and pod people. Victor, left home alone for about a month while his parents are on vacation at an adults only resort and his sister is up in the mountains with friends, begins to see strange coincidences around him that just can't be ignored.
