The great Tacky (‘s revolt).

Rated Zoete zoete wraak BV 8/10

Everything in the story in this book is ridiculous, but also somehow believable. Very funny.

Rated This Strange Eventful History 8/10

A lovely slow burner taking bits and pieces of the lives of members of a family.

Rated Zoals zussen zijn 8/10

I enjoyed this window into the lives of 5 sisters who grew up during the 20th century and witnessed how the world, their society and the role of women dramatically changed.

Rated The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in the Amazon 10/10

I learned so many things about the Amazon and its tribes that I never even knew I wanted to learn. Incredible book with one central story that had influenced more lives than one would expect.

Rated La casa de Bernarda Alba 9/10

Rated De enige die overbleef 6/10

The story was a bit too far fetched and bouncing all over the place.

Rated Miracle Workers 10/10

I’d never heard of the tv series until after I finished reading this.

Very funny book.

Rated A Philosophy of Software Design 8/10

Rated Allegro ma non troppo 8/10

Rated Wondermond 8/10

A fun read about a community in a region that the rest of the country looks down on. An interesting historical angle which illustrates how poverty of past days keeps on having its effect deep into the future.

Rated The Vegetarian 6/10

At times it was great, particularly the second part. This view on suffering and death as part of the human experience was interesting as well. But all in all, I was still somewhat happy when I finished it.

Rated De vriend 6/10

I often don’t like it when - as the reader -you know more than the protagonist. This was the case here.
I do admit that I did not see the final plot twist coming the way it turned out.

Rated Vonkie 10/10

A wonderful story about aging, loss and above all that at every age there is something to be gained from life. All wrapped up in a journey on foot through the Scottish highlands.
