Rated Armageddon 8/10
This book still delivers as a page-turner, but it’s where the series starts to feel overly convoluted, with characters becoming too powerful. That said, the plot developments that *do* happen are satisfying - especially Alex and Dom's arcs. One more book to go!

Rated Wind and Truth 8/10
Wind and Truth is a solid entry in The Stormlight Archive and a good capstone to its first main story arc. The writing is good and engaging, and the long build-up is very eventful. Still, at 1,330 pages, there is just so much of it. This could easily have been two decent-sized books, and I was somewhat glad to be done with it by the end.

Rated Hogfather 6/10
While I really (REALLY) miss Stephen Briggs' character work, I love that Bill Nighy is so present as Death in this one, along with the main narration and other characters by Sian Clifford.
The novel itself is fun as usual for Pratchett and there are plenty of new, memorable characters here, but Nighy's Hooo, hooo, hooooos are what made me laugh frequently.
Susan, the Death of Rats (squeak), and Quoth the raven were all great additions to spend time with as well.

Rated Equal Rites 8/10
An early Discworld novel where Pratchett is still finding his voice. The jokes are less frequent and often simpler than in later books - funny for sure, but more predictable than what I'm used to from his later works.
This was also my first Discworld audiobook narrated by Indira Varma. It took a while to get used to her narration after Stephen Briggs, though by the end I was recognizing the character voices more easily.

Rated The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents 6/10
Compared to most Discworld novels, the plot here is more straightforward and the humor more direct - it's YA, after all. I read preferred the Tiffany Aching YA series too, but they also skew older and came later. Maybe Pratchett was finding his stride. Either way, I found this book a fun read and Briggs' narration was great - as always.
Rated 3 Days, 9 Months, 27 Years 6/10
I’m a sucker for science fiction short stories that change one or two aspects of reality and explore the consequences.
Scalzi does that well in this story, and the writing works for me. I especially liked how the different travelers allow the story to explore several scenarios.
The ending was less satisfying than I’d hoped for, though, so this lands at 3 stars for me.

Rated Daisy Jones & The Six 8/10
A few years ago I bounced off the TV series Daisy Jones & The Six… turns out I just didn’t like it in a visual format.
The audiobook? Loved it. Full cast, great cadence, and a real page-turner. Even if the reveal felt a bit anticlimactic, the ending was well timed and satisfying.

Rated The Three Coffins 6/10
showed up on a “best detective stories of all time” list, so I decided to read it. I must admit that this was not my personal favorite detective story of all time. The story is not bad, but its age shows, and the writing style came across as rather snobbish to me. It makes me wonder how this mystery would read if it was rewritten by a modern writer.

verschillende verhalen, de meeste zonder begin of eind. Weinig boeiend, al is de schrijfstijl fijn. Pas na een flinke tijd besef ik dat het losse verhalen zijn, terwijl ik nog wachtte op samenhang. Niet handig
