The trouble with reading an excellent, supremely funny book is that I could probably read the whole thing aloud to passerby (though some of it not while small, parroting children are present), and as such, I could flip open just about any page and excerpt it here. Shukert never falls into the navel-gazing, “look how important and witty I am” trap that other memorists might — she is who she is, and that’s how she writes. After absolutely loving No.5, I had high hopes going into the latest volume of Electric Literature. Perhaps too high, as no ongoing literary magazine is going to be loved by a specific reader every single time. No.6 links together five stories of quiet resignation and detached violence, and though I found the stories and characters interesting enough to keep going, they did not stay with me. They're perfectly fine, well-written stories, but their complications were not the sort of complications I typically enjoy. <br><br>But wait... It's not all bad! <div>I respect that Cindy Sherman has a place in art history, but the first project in this book has blackface and that "character" is lit horribly, so I'm glad I found this book for free. It still had the music CD in the back, but I have not listened. Maybe one day out of curiosity, I will take it out to the car, but I can't say the book made it a priority.</div>
