Rated Ways to Disappear 6/10
Slight but pretty, and a quick read. A Brazilian writer runs off, and her family and her American translator try to find her. It's clear that this is a first novel, and one written by a poet - it's gorgeously written, a little half-baked, dotted here and there with formal experimentation.
Rated The Assistants 8/10
A delightful caper, fast and engaging, about the underpaid assistant to a powerful media CEO who falls into a con scheme.

Rated Speedboat 8/10
Odd and haunting series of vignettes about a reporter, her social circle, New York and the 1970s. Doesn’t really pull together into a plot but it’s worth the trip. Reminds me of Lydia Davis or Donald Barthelme.
Rated Lincoln in the Bardo 10/10
This is an amazing feat of a book made all the better by the exceptionally well-done audiobook, which is how I read it. This might be the best book I've read so far this year.
