When I read this book, it felt like a classic fairytale turned feminist - told from the POV of an old white man. Tress develops a lot as a character in this book, sometimes a bit on the nose. The 'one true love' trope bothered me from beginning to end, but that's also a personal ick.
What really carries this book for me, is the worldbuilding. How Tress explores and discovers the world and herself along with it is what makes this book a great read. If you want to read a magical coming of age book, this might be a good fit!

It's a very cute, wholesome read. I mean, there's a cat in a space suit for heavens sake.
It's cozy and fun to read, but also has some truth bombs about the end, grief and letting go. It's worth the (short) read!

Rated Record of a Spaceborn Few 6/10

with all the different characters, it was quite all over the place for me. It took a great while to get into this book, especially after loving the first and second book so much.
