Rated Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch 10/10
If the End Times are going to be this much fun, then bring 'em on.
Rated The Labyrinth of the Spirits 8/10
The main story was good, twisty-turny and atmospheric as you'd expect, but the meta postscript/epilogue felt unnecessary and self-indulgent.
Rated Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by Rowling J.K. 8/10
I missed out on the books when I was growing up (reading lots of Discworld instead) but loved the films, so I'm reading them now as an adult (read the first one last year).

This was unabashedly a children's book. The sentences are short and simple, the characters maybe 2 and a half dimensions at most, and the plot unfolds quite simply.

However, it's a great children's book! The simplicity of the writing means there's lots of space for the setting to be brought to life, and it's a fun read.

I'm looking forward to when my kids are big enough to read it too.
Rated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. J.K. Rowling 10/10
Shock as pantomime villain turns out to be actual villain.
Rated The Wisdom of Crowds 10/10
Full of blood, backstabbing, and bastardy. Brilliant.
Rated Why I'm No Longer Talking to White People About Race 10/10
Eye-opening, essential reading to gain some understanding of the experience of those marginalised by British society.
