Last night, Major League Baseball legend Reggie Jackson was asked in a Fox Sports show about how he felt about returning to Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., for a Negro League tribute game. The 78-year-old, who started his MLB career in Birmingham in 1967, did not hold back. He told interviewer Alex Rodriguez about his experience of racial slurs and being denied entry to restaurants and hotels, in a city where the Ku Klux Klan was committing attacks of racial hatred. Very bummed about it b/c I invested a lot in growing my followers there, made some great connections, and believe it’s exponentially better than the site formally known as #Twitter. I might go back, I don’t know but the #moderation tools weren’t addressing my needs. Guess I’ll try again to learn this place 👋🏽

If this were a pregnant white woman, there would be a firestorm of outrage coast to coast, even if she was armed and threatened the life of a police officer.
But an unarmed, pregnant Black woman only "suspected" of a petty thief, and posing no threat is put down like a dangerous animal.
This is not a few bad apples, or a police problem, it's the manufactured culture of #whiteness and the state-sponsored racial class system that cultivates and defends it.
