I played Hockey, football and baseball. Got stories for all of them..
But lets talk ⚾ BASEBALL.
I tried out and played as a back catcher in Little League Baseball.
First day of Tryouts. I'm there early. Noone there except the pitcher and I. As I am getting warmed up. I see the BULLY of our school coming my way. He said, "get out there I'm the back catcher"; so I tried out for 3 baseman and learned what a #hot_box was.. but also doubled as #BACKUP BACKCATCHER.
It was our last game. Very important bc if we win this game we go to BANTAM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS in #Europe.
Its like the beginning of the game. The bully BACKCATCHER gets a #Batter_Interference call by the umpire… not just one, but twice; then 3 times and walks the guy. Bases loaded??
Coach pulls him out and replaces him with me.. ALL EYES ON ME. Bottom of the 1st #Inning...
JUMPING TO >> “Its the bottom of the 9th” (we are tied) I just finished batting and have stolen 1st base; then 2nd base and now on 3rd base >> trying to steal #Home.. grin.
Just waiting for someone to make a mistake >> cause they #always do.. ;)
I saw my chance since Backcatcher missed the ball. I bolted to home base. Backcatcher now has the ball chasing me back to third, All he has got to do is touch me with that ball and I am OUT!
Then throws ball to 3rd so I could be tagged out there. But I start blitzing to home base again and ball gets thrown to Backcatcher, which is called #THE_HOT_BOX;)
Im going back and forth to home and 3rd base and they are trying to squeeze me in closer to tag me with that ball. Grin.. but I knew if I kept my kool and speed, someone was going to miss the ball and THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED.
After the 3rd time thrown from 3rd; BACKCATCHER MISSES BALL and I slide into home bottom of the 9th and we WIN the #CHAMPIONSHIP BY 1 POINT!
My entire team rushed out and put me on their shoulders since I just bought them a #FREE ticket to #Europe.
What an Experience (SHOULDERS) for sure:)
Unfortunately you need a parent signature to go to Europe and I didn't have any of those.. So I joined 🏈 #Football.

Last night, Major League Baseball legend Reggie Jackson was asked in a Fox Sports show about how he felt about returning to Rickwood Field in Birmingham, Ala., for a Negro League tribute game. The 78-year-old, who started his MLB career in Birmingham in 1967, did not hold back. He told interviewer Alex Rodriguez about his experience of racial slurs and being denied entry to restaurants and hotels, in a city where the Ku Klux Klan was committing attacks of racial hatred. The Red Sox broadcasting arm, NESN, is making a big deal about having an all female broadcasting team for tonight's game. Knowing people who have worked for NESN my first cynical thought is, they're doing a test run of females because they can pay them less and they could save money with female staff.
