I've been thinking today about one of my favourite audiobooks: The Trouble with Angels, which I narrated as Eden Cavell, about a naive divorcee who makes a fresh start when two hot Daddy Doms take her under their wing.
It's a good book for people who are interested in my work who don't like romance! It's big-hearted and genuinely funny.

Trouble Wore Red by Chris Lewis and James Meunier (Narrator) (2025) is a noir inspired mystery with a science fiction setting. Imagine a blending of the world of Cowboy Bebop / Carole and Tuesday with the mysteries of Dashiell Hammett and Raymond Chandler. Now imagine a group of characters who have reached middle age and feel it in every muscle; that's this book and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

If you have never listened to my audiobooks before and don't know where to start, allow me to recommend The Giantess Slave by Amber Collins.
A female mad scientist kidnaps two party girls to create the ultimate instrument of her revenge: a 200-foot tall woman!
It's a scifi story with a light sapphic vibe that's the lowest heat of all my books -- it's far more suggestive than explicit and barely registers as PG-13.
It's also as campy as a 1950's drive-in movie.
And I had more fun than I know how to tell you doing the sexy mad scientist voice!
Bonus: for reasons I absolutely do not understand, several listeners have told me that they love to listen to this book to fall asleep to. Maybe my MILF-y Mad Scientist voice is soporific?

If you buy from Audible, make sure you download and get rid of the Audible DRM on your purchased audio files. A strange bug has been happening to me. I purchased audiobooks with cash, and these are favorite authors, so I knew I wanted to buy them. I never returned them. But today, Audible is acting as if I never bought them. I've finished: Gund of the Dawn by Adrian Tchaikovsky
At this point I'd read anything by Tchaikovsky. But Guns of the Dawn is the Tchaikovsky novel most likely to disappoint his fans.
It is mostly British nobles tying themselves up in knots pride and prejudice style. I get frustrated and just want to slap them and yell and them to snap out of it and allow themselves to be happy.
Strange animals are hinted at but never explored. There is combat, but I found the portrayal of musket combat to be lacking. Muskets in a swamp, and checking if the powder is dry is mentioned only when back home in "England". No bayonets? Most shots are accurate and fatal. It seems that narrative necessity overruled Tchaikovsky's usual diligent portrayal of weapons and combat. (See shadow of the apt).
However, the characters are compelling, and the anti war sentiment is pervasive and I appreciate it very much.
Despite its flaws, it is a good novel and I read it from start to finish without switching to other works. It was a grate companion during a stressful week when I found it hard to give all my attention to the audiobook.
Emma Newman was a great choice as narrator.
