Here's a ceramic hedgehog, fierce defender of whatever you store inside its belly. I'm new to this community and I'm a bit like this hedgehog. Since certain social media platforms are showing their true colors, I'm backing off and trying to find a safe place to settle, to share creative stuff, knowledge and fun without generating profit for scary billionaires. he's escaping again. the industrial innovator, internet jester, jewish billionaires for hitler chairman. but he's not really escaping, is he. every form of escape he entertains is his prison. his doors of perception, cleaner than ever, revealed themselves to be the doors to his cell. his reality is being completely distorted yet also made more bright, unbearable, and honest than ever before. he decides he should hurry up uploading his brain to a computer, he can't take much more of this body.

Castles in the sky: the fantastical drawings of author Victor Hugo – in pictures

Although better known for his sprawling Romantic novels The Hunchback of Notre-Dame and Les Misérables, celebrated French author Victor Hugo spent much of his time drawing. A collection of about 70 of his sketches will soon be on display at the Royal Academy in London, in an exhibition bringing together caricatures, travel drawings and landscapes.

Landscape With a Castle on a Cliff, 1857 by Victor Hugo.

With materials as diverse as coffee dregs, ink and soot, he often elaborated upon chance blots to suggest baroque shapes. He also used stencils, lace and folding to create complex abstract patterns, scraping and manipulating the ink, even with his fingers.

In Landscape with a castle he created a stencil and brushed ink over it, to leave the fortress as a white reserve, then added details in pen. The ‘assisted’ accidents of the ink washes and strong contrast of light and dark combine to produce a tempestuous atmosphere.

Chooms, today I want to proudly show you why the Fediverse is top-notch.

I always wanted to learn to draw, but I never quite managed to create something cool. In the Fediverse, I frequently saw people learning things that seemingly brought them joy, and that motivated me so much that I started learning to create artworks about a year ago. I began with drawing and then moved on to vectors (which suit me better), and thanks to your feedback, I kept improving (at least that's what I believe).

And now comes a twist: thanks to the community, this amazing artwork came to life. I've occasionally posted its development locally on this instance, and everyone who gave feedback has been immortalized in my artwork.

I present to you, Ivy. A street kid from Night City, she helps you with every gig and hangs out with you at the place where the former legends of the CORTEX IMPLANT and HACKERS TOWN gang used to meet!

I spent two weeks working on this artwork, and every minute was a joy! So much fun that you can even get prints to hang in your space - if you’d like.
