KYLIX BY DURIS. THE LABOURS OF THESEUS.

A kylix is a shallow, wide drinking cup with two horizontal handles and a stem with a foot. This photograph shows the vessel photographed from above and displayed in a way that reveals both the central tondo (circular medallion in the interior bottom of the cup) and the exterior decorative bands. The presentation shows the cup as if flattened out, with the circular interior scene in the center and the two curved exterior panels (from opposite sides of the cup) arranged above and below.
