- Summary: For 14 years, CS professor Jeff Huang has run his life from one continuous plain-text file.
Every evening he copies the next day’s calendar entries into the bottom of the file; during the day he marks tasks done, adds meeting notes, tags (#idea, #annual), and shuffles leftovers back to future calendar slots.
The 52 000-line file is searchable, device-agnostic, and doubles as a complete research and meeting log.
Email is triaged with three color flags; no separate todo lists or inbox-zero rituals.
The result: a single, lightweight, future-proof system that shows exactly what to do each morning and archives everything he has ever done.

@Mastodon #Annual #Report 2023 is finally published!
A little late in the year, you may think, but I'm so glad we've pushed through and made it happen just before the Christmas holidays, for all of you to enjoy!
A big shoutout goes to my report partner in crime @philipkristians and our designers @dopatwo and Pierre Vincent for such a great and timely collaboration!
As well as the rest of the team for their input, feedback, laser-eye proofreading & support throughout!
