@autistics #ActuallyAutistic this just happened at work this week:
(1) covering for a fellow admin and they are due back the next dauy
(2) admin's manager asks me to start scheduling a new meeting that would not happen for at least 2 weeks
(3) admin comes back next day and winds up having to go through multiple rounds of dates over the next three days after my initial dates didn't wind up working
so why was this waste of time initiated by the admin’s manger?

since am one of those #ActuallyAutistic people Dx at the tender age of 50 (yes, 50. and yes am older now, shut up), am not acquainted with the american rituals of national days or awareness months involving autism.
welp, let me do this as a gentle reminder:

I've decided to call my attempts at cleaning... the roomba method.
I wander about in a seemingly random manner, cleaning random spots poorly, until I run out of power or I get stuck (distracted).
At the end of this roomba session, things are a little cleaner... but not actually clean and I'm either exhausted or happy with something shiny and interesting.
Now that I'm spending more time on Mastodon, I'm realizing I don't follow enough people. Many of them are inactive accounts.
My feed is running dry rather quickly.

It's time for a re- #introduction since this instance has changed a lot since being launched.
This instance was set up for testing and playing with Internationalized Domain Names. That experiment has mostly been a success and I've now migrated away from my once-main instance.
I'm a former software developer of over 20 years, working primarily in #opensource and #telephony. I now do #cybersecurity as a profession, after starting to do cybersecurity research as a hobby about a year ago.

Beyond my #infosec postings, you'll typically find nonsense that I find funny; sometimes I might even say stuff that other people find amusing.
I once self-published a book that I've never read called The Consequences of Being Right (ISBN 979-8880045068). It was entirely written by ChatGPT and was published because I thought it was stupid and funny. Miraculously, I've managed to sell two copies, neither of which have been returned.

My sibling has been kinda judging me (in a 'jokingly' manner) for having a special interest in Buddhism and Japanese culture. One day, they even past me that Japanese soda can and ask me to translate the label. I told them I'm still learning, so of course I don't know a lot of kanji words yet. They joked that 'Oh I thought you're supposed to be a weeabo'.
Just pure cringe. Nobody should mock someone who just happen to be interested in East Asian culture or any foreign culture for that manner. You're just not being funny man...
