One last Corman-meets-Poe Flick. As with most of his later E. A. Poe adaptations, there is a lot of stupid, campy fun to be had, while i still consider Roger Corman’s first two Poe films to be his best. This time he goes all medieval on us and thankfully we got Vincent Price back, who has the uncanny ability to sell us even the most ridiculous characters and premises in the most entertaining way. And this film is plenty ridiculous, including black mass ceremonies and such.
