Kinda like a low-budget Jodorowsky flick channeled through the lens of a weirdly freudian John Waters, this borderline-incomprehensible Christoph Schlingensief flick's main draw must be the experimental juxtaposition of deliberately ugly aesthetics with occasional flashes of beauty. There's some good stuff in there but unfortunately, the sum of its parts never amounts to anything substantial. Udo Kier is delightful here while Tilda Swinton isn't given a lot to do. If Schlingensief's whole point was to confuse and infuriate his audience though, he's definitely achieved that.
