I have to admit i’m not much of a Scorsese fanboy overall, but whenever he does farce i’m usually on board with it… and definitely with this one about an utterly deluded wannabe-celebrity kidnapping his way into late-night television. He’s pretty much exactly the kind of dude who would have just bought his way into fame if he was a rich new yorker. But he ain’t, so he’s just going to jail. This film shouldn’t have bombed when it first came out. I guess it just wasn’t enough of a thrill in the cocaine-fueled 80’s.
