Not the easiest Kaurismäki film to love, which mostly comes down to the main protagonist - while being at least somewhat likable - being such a fatally stupid piece of meat. So the viewer has to decide by himself if he admires his questinable loyalty, not incriminating a (definitely guilty) person who used him and basically sent him (definitely innocent) to prison… or if that dumb fuck hero should just have sung like a bird. But you know, in real life, sometimes stupid people do stupid things for stupid reasons.
