This late Argento giallo flick could have been up there with the director's very best work if it weren't for that ending which doesn't only seem completely superfluous and arbitrarily tacked on but also feels like from a different film altogether regarding its visuals, compromising the atmosphere and clear overall vision of what preceded it, thus dulling the overall impact.
