Well, this was my first encounter with the cult genre of 'Namsploitation'. I hoped for a deliciously campy, completely over the top parody of 1970s / 1980s Vietnam-themed films. Something like a badly dubbed Commando-wannabe with macho Italian actors, good for lots of laughs. But The Last Hunter turned out to take itself a little too seriously, resulting in a failed attempt to create a credible Vietnam-themed film. It feels like a 12-year old kid tried to make a serious war movie with a bunch of worst-rate actors. I can appreciate some campy goodness, but this just didn't work for me.
